ICU Simulator

Follow the scenario, establish a baseline and observe how monitored variables change together—without treating the simulation as a patient monitor or clinical protocol.

Purpose

Bring the ICU episode into one synchronized model.

The ICU Simulator begins with episode, demographics and admission context, then coordinates vitals, ECG, EEG and other signals, labs, radiology, examinations and reports. Use it to follow a traceable multi-system response—not to apply a treatment protocol to a real patient.

Workflow

Move from episode context to evidence.

  1. Open the ICU Simulator and review the episode, demographics and admission context.
  2. Establish baseline vitals and inspect available ECG, EEG and other signals.
  3. Review labs, radiology, examinations and reports before changing the scenario.
  4. Use System to orient the synchronized anatomy and Findings to organize direct observations.
  5. Use Simulate to run the implemented scenario and follow the waveform and multi-system timeline.
  6. Use Evidence to trace each modeled response back to its finding, input or rule.
  7. Reset before comparing another pathway.
Scenario review

Keep anatomy, waveform and timeline synchronized.

  • Which episode and admission context establish the baseline?
  • Which direct findings come from vitals, signals, labs, radiology, examinations or reports?
  • Which anatomy view and waveform correspond to the current timeline point?
  • Which systems respond together, and which respond later?
  • Which Evidence entry explains the displayed multi-system change?
Context before action

A single simulated value is not a clinical instruction. Read it with the episode, findings, synchronized timeline and evidence trace.

Interpretation

Use temporal relationships, not hindsight.

Describe what was known at each step and what changed afterward. The simulator may simplify physiology, monitoring artifacts, comorbidity and treatment effects. Its response is traceable to the scenario’s defined rules.

Limits

Not a bedside monitor, protocol or emergency service.

Never use the ICU Simulator to manage a patient, calculate medication, choose ventilation settings, delay escalation or interpret live monitor data. Use approved local protocols, validated systems and qualified clinical staff for care.
