EEG Simulator

Explore modeled neural electrical activity by separating frequency, amplitude, distribution and time—without treating a simulated pattern as a clinical recording.

Purpose

Inspect supported EEG recordings with controlled processing.

The EEG Simulator imports EDF, BDF or CSV recordings up to 12 MB, supports recordings with 1–256 channels and provides original and filtered signal views. Use it to examine selected channels and time segments with the source context visible.

Workflow

Set channel, segment and signal context first.

  1. Open the EEG Simulator and import a supported EDF, BDF or CSV recording no larger than 12 MB.
  2. Select the channel or channels needed from the recording’s available 1–256 channels.
  3. Set the start point and duration for the segment you want to inspect.
  4. Confirm mains frequency and sample rate before applying filtering.
  5. Compare the original and filtered views, then use playback, seek and restart to review the same segment.
  6. Review band-power output only in the context of the selected channels, segment and processing settings.
  7. Preserve the displayed provenance and limitations with any notes.
Signal features

Keep source, segment and processing visible.

  • Channels: Which channels are selected from the imported recording?
  • Segment: What start point and duration define the displayed interval?
  • Processing: What mains, sample-rate and filtering settings are active?
  • Original versus filtered: Which features persist in both views during playback?
  • Band power: Which segment and channels produced the displayed band-power values?
Band power is descriptive

A band-power value or waveform feature does not, by itself, establish disease, state or diagnosis.

Interpretation

Keep state, pattern and diagnosis separate.

A frequency band or waveform characteristic is not, by itself, a diagnosis. Interpret the output only in relation to the simulator’s selected state and stated model.

Limits

Signal exploration—not clinical interpretation.

Use only recordings you are authorized to handle and follow the displayed limitations. Do not diagnose seizure activity, infer disease or consciousness, or guide care from the waveform, filtering or band-power display. Clinical EEG requires validated acquisition, full context and qualified interpretation.
